This is a lesson plan to teach children about Lent and why Christians give something up during Lent. It is suitable for ages 7-11. The 5 page lesson plan (pdf) includes details of a starter, an introduction to an event in Jesus' life, a brainstorming activity, a poem writing task and a final drama activity. The plan includes learning objectives for three levels of abilities and assessment for learning strategies. There is also a 15 slide PowerPoint presentation included, which gives details about Lent and tells the story of an event in Jesus' life linked to Lent. This is not editable. A 30 page pack of fun Christmas themed activities aimed at 5-7 year olds. There are a mixture of numeracy, literacy, phonics and art activities perfect for the end of term. Examples include counting carol singers, writing acrostic poems and completing sequences among many others. Children can work independently on activities during this busy part of the year or they could be used as part of a whole lesson. A colour and black and white version of the 30 page booklet is included. A great way to keep learning going right up to the end of term. This is a plan and resources for a KS1 RE lesson on Lent, with a focus on the theme of ‘Giving Something Up.’ The 5 page pdf lesson plan includes details of a group starter, a discussion, a drama activity, a group written activity, a poem writing activity and a plenary game. There are also differentiated targets, a list of resources and curriculum links and details about assessment for learning methods. All activities are highly interactive and make the topic relevant to the children’s lives as well as introducing them to some facts about Lent and an event that happened during Jesus’ life. This interactive PowerPoint quiz is perfect for using in the 2024 Australian CBCA Book Week. It contains 54 questions. The first 48 questions cover famous books from Australia and around the world. The theme this year is ‘Reading is Magic’ and so I have chosen books that have a magical element or are from the fantasy genre. These are followed by one question on each of the books in the CBCA 2024 short list for ages 7-12. You can use this as a starter, an assembly, a filler or a main activity. All questions are multiple choice and focus on popular modern books as well as classics. After you have chosen an answer for each question, click again and the correct answer changes colour. The PowerPoint is not editable. Please click ‘read only’ to open. Some of the images are only revealed when the PowerPoint is played as a slideshow with the animations. A collection of 3 practice SATs SPaG papers for year 6. All three papers are based on a past SPaG paper 1. Each practice paper contains 50 questions focussing on a range of punctuation and grammar. Answers are also included. This includes tenses, sentence types, semi-colons, colons, brackets, hyphens, commas, subordinate clauses, prefixes, word classes, apostrophes, pronouns, synonyms and antonyms. The questions are formatted in the same way as the SATs papers, so the children are asked to circle, tick, fill in the missing gap and write full sentences. This is a 5 lesson Literacy unit all about Florence Nightingale. The plan is aimed at year 2 and gives details of the year 2 curriculum objectives covered.
